Every time I arrange to give a training course on Instagram it is booked out almost immediately.
I am not naïve enough to think that it is because I am the trainer! I know it is because Instagram seems to be the social media channel that businesses want to find out more about now.
Instagram for Business
To harness the power of this ultra-popular platform you need to know how people use it and why they like it so much. So, set up an account to see what people are sharing – watch and learn initially. Instagram users come to Instagram to be inspired, they love great photos and interesting videos, it is all about the visual.
How to get started on Instagram
Once you are ready to start using Instagram to build brand awareness, switch over to a business account and ensure your profile is optimised. Start following some people, brands and hashtags (if you don’t know what a hashtag is read my article on hashtags).
Start with sharing some photos, think of a clever caption and add your hashtags. Then perhaps move on to sharing some video content. Once you have the posting to your feed mastered, experiment with ‘stories’ where you should get some good engagement.
Instagram has some great features and special effects like filters, stickers, boomerang and many more. Plus, you can download many apps that interact with your account to create special effects, subtitles, sounds and more
